Pipe Boxing vs Pipe Casing

Pipe boxings are manufactured with square corners and are available in two or three sided 90° configurations.

Pipe casings are available as either 90° or 120° angles in two or three sided configurations and have a small radius bullnose corner.

Both boxings and casings are available as standard in lengths of 1200mm and 2400mm. 3000mm lengths and further profiles and sizes are available to order, including bespoke sizes, please see our specifier and trade website at www.pipecasings.co.uk for further information or contact us at sales@zylo-direct.co.uk.

What are Zylo products made from?

The full range of pipe boxing, pipe casing and boiler covers are manufactured from 9mm thick moisture resistant FSC® certified MDF, coated with a seamless light laminate impregnated paper in a white semi matt finish, similar to kitchen and bedroom cabinets. Zylo boxings can be tiled, wallpapered and can even accept a top coat to the surface with minimum preparation, enabling it to blend in with the surrounding decor.

Are the measurements internal or external?

The pipe boxing and pipe casing measurements are external sizes. Please allow 9mm for the thickness of the material, plus additional space for a fixing batten (approx 30mm if using our support brackets, additional space may be required if timber battens are used depending upon the size of the batten).

How are Zylo products fit?

We recommend the use of our unique support brackets to secure our products in place. Our brackets are lightweight, easier to screw through and leave more room for services than timber batten alternatives, support brackets and fittings can be purchased to suit the shape of pipe boxing or pipe casing required. Timber battens purchased from local hardware stores can also be used.
There is a broad range of accessories available to accommodate specific requirements, such as cover strips for joining two sections of casing together, internal and external corners for ensuring a quick and neat room installation and stop ends for when an end to end application is not feasible.
